In the life of Srila Visvanath Chakrawarthi ,we know of an incident whereby an Atibadi Goswami(Sahajiya) because of his beliefs  being rejected as not favorable to devotion by Thakur immediately denounced that SriViswanath was unfit to be an Acarya to preach while claiming that only they being  the actual householder sons of the  genuine Acarya  were qualified to preach in that position. In short ,the point is if actually unqualified people were put in the lofty position of Acaryas it would propel  the Vaishnava society to degradation. ,Hence in this connection, the actual question of  the qualification of an Acarya is  being discussed.

Usually in the first instance, these individuals connect the title Goswami to their actual  name which  immediately implies their as  not being eligible because Vaishnavas usually  are the epitome of humility as the verse trnad api sunichena meaning   for one to feel lower than the  straw in the street. They profess in their  speaking  regarding the Bhagavatam and other scriptures but in actuality are simply the servants of their  restless senses but in order for prestige in par their so called high bearing, have the audacity to use the title Goswami to fool the gullible public .The  prestigious Tridandi title implies a person who has  proper control over the urges of his mind ,body and speech not otherwise but these people forcefully add that Goswami title in an illegal way, how can one explain that? Also having noted that the renowned Six Goswamis of Vrndavana opted for wearing the ordinary  white cloth although being on the status of an elevated devotee or Paramhamsa while Srila Prabhodananda Saraswati in preference accepted the ochre robes of a renunciate. These present Goswamis are of the opinion that anybody can take the  white cloth of an elevated devotee without even accepting the highest office of the tridanda renunciate. So these people while still deep rooted in householder life ,wander around depicting themselves shallowly as adorning the august white robes as goswamis  are  all  generally unqualified to be Acarya. 

Secondly Those who profess to be Acaryas supposedly in relation  to their higher birth must reject the  five prominent  places that Kali resides as mentioned in the Bhagavatam(liquor ,meat gambling ,illicit activities and illegal money)then  in short this means  that those who generally disqualify  as Acarya will be those who do business on the Holy name or the Holy deity of the Lord ,illegal money collection, indulging in mundane sport,  taking intoxicants as as betel ,nose snuff, tobacco ,liquor, their striving to satisfy lusty desires, advocating birth as the only qualification for spirituality,  performing violence to other living entities, madness, falsity in actions, opposition to the king of the country and lastly in their  collection of gold.

Thirdly,  those  in the category of unqualified  view the materials to be used in the service of Krishna for one's own enjoyment because of their material intelligence and covering. Also this means they  may view the Holy Salagrama simply as stone, the spiritual master as an ordinary man.  and   judge a Vaishnava by his birth, They consider the foot water of the Supreme Lord and the Vaishnava devotee as ordinary and have no faith in the divine Holy name. They consider the demigods to on the same stature of Lord Vishnu.  They view the holy remnants of the Lord in a vile enjoying mood. They find fault in actions of the  sincere Vaishnavas ,hence all are disqualified.

Fourthly, those unqualified have faith in unfavorable practices not conducive to devotion, they seem to accept and respect those who are renowned  as impersonalists. Their belief that  only Smarta Vaishnava Acaryas like themselves are fit to govern society,  further, their show of spirituality  simply means to increase their material assets .They give more stress to work and knowledge in defiance of pure devotion ,engaging in ordinary society work while becoming adverse to Vaishnavas in general hence  all such are unqualified.

In the Fifth  instance, they have the idea that they are perfected devotees already although they in truth  are  deeply enamored by their restless senses and lured by it attempt to relish the highest transcendental mellows of the love pastimes of the Supreme Lord with hearing ,chanting and remembering of such pastimes but with their shallow sensual interpretation will definitely disqualify them as  being Acaryas. Therefore belonging to a elevated spiritual dynasty is not the hallmark of pure devotion. 

In the sixth instance, to think oneself as a Vaishnava is generally a disqualification for one posing to be Acarya.  All Vaishnavas are the paraphernalia of the Lord and to think them as one's  lowly servant while acting outwardly  as their lordly master will make such individuals generally unqualified to be an Acarya. One who has never taken shelter of a qualified guru but goes around preaching his own mental  concocted philosophy will never be able to help others nor himself .To exploit the Supreme Lord and other Vaishnavas for one's personal interests is a disqualification .
